About me

Hi! My name is Tibor, and welcome to my webpage! You might be asking yourself, "What is this page about?!" Well... It's just a small project to showcase my skills as a DevOps professional. Let me be clear though, I am not a web designer and the page layout/design is not my work. I did modify the template, but that's about it. What I want to highlight are the things behind the webpage. The server is self-built, the networking and firewalls are self-managed. This page was deployed using a GitLab pipeline and the code was modified with Git. The webserver is running in an Nginx container on Docker. I hope you can now see my point here. Essentially, this is what I do for a living: mostly working with configuration and automation tasks, scripting, creating pipelines, deploying stuff, debugging, checking logs, writing documentation, figuring stuff out, and taking care of daily operational tasks. Currently, I am working as a DevOps Engineer for Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia, where my team and I are responsible for one of the most widely used GEO-Informational web applications of Deutsche Telekom AG.

Dont forget: "There are no issues, there are opportunities!"

And also... "To make error is human. To propagate error to all server in automatic way is #devops." :)

DevOps

DevOps is the combination of cultural philosophies, practices, and tools that increases an organization’s ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity, evolving and improving products at a faster pace than organizations using traditional software development and infrastructure management processes. This speed enables organizations to better serve their customers and compete more effectively in the market.

Technical Skills

DevOps are all about technology, and skills. From the machinery used in the plant to the software systems used in operations, a configration manager should know each one well, and if the time comes, he should also be able to step in and fix the problems.

Application Support

The efficient operation of an application needs day to day maintenance that is done through application support. It assists users to manage any queries or errors they may face in the daily use of the application as well as provide a contact that users can reach for assistance.

Communication and Collaboration

Given its basic nature, communication and collaboration are very crucial to succeed in DevOps competition. These two are very important to breaking down the siloes between Dev and Ops teams, aligning teams’ goals to business objectives and implement DevOps culture cross-functionally.

Customer-Focused Approach

Customer satisfaction is the end goal of any successful DevOps process. Given this factor, professionals should ensure every function they perform should be in line with business objectives and delivery value to the end-user.

Time management

Scheduling deadlines, monitoring important production milestones and ensuring teams finish projects within specific deadlines are several responsibilities that depend on time management skills.
